Holiday Message From Barbara ~ With Love
Every action, every moment is a celebration! A prayer.
The winter’s solstice is upon us. The time of quieting and preparation. It’s a Season for rest and introspection. How is it we are experiencing this time?
This is a cycle of Earth and personal growth. We are learning we are in truth energy, which makes us ultimately ONE. While we are shifting our vibrations to become the masters of ourselves, we are releasing the ego and becoming clearly each other, joys and sorrows, the trees, waters, four-leggeds, star nations…all of this Universe.
This a great time to be here. Our paradigm of humanity is evolving and we are being asked to expand into the love of the Great Mystery.
Gratefully, it is no longer a secret how it works. We are created to feel, embrace and be unconditional love.
It is the way.
Why is it some seem to live a life of miracles and bliss while other struggle merely to survive? This has caused my heart to ponder long and hard.
It is attitude..Yes. But more, it is Faith. Fearless faith that you are valuable, of high quality and it is your destiny to be happy and filled with light of joy and be safe. I see it like this….a child who wants a bike for a gift, but does not understand the parents are out of work, without the financial means to get it. Yet when the big day arrives, so does the bike. You see, it is commitment. Until you are committed, there is hesitancy, ineffectiveness, and a willingness to draw back. Once you are committed however, all the Universe works in auspicious unity, finding ways to bring forth the outcome. Often in miraculous ways that otherwise would have been missed. So, the community buys the bike or the neighbor’s child out-grew hers or a raffle is won, or auntie gets it. There are a thousand ways of kneeling and kissing the earth, so why limit the universe?
This is a time of unbounded and unlimited belief in good. Manifestation is energy. We are now open to the greatest energy ever, for such connections. “Ask and you shall receive.” Ancient, and true still. I have found that what I discovered in the 1970′s about myself and the Good Road is still the simplest and truest form of living for me. Less is more. And in the same voice: There is nothing too great to ask for, if it is for my good and the good of all concerned. Ok then.
We are in a powerful time in this human walk. We can talk the talk. walk the talk or walk the walk. It is all good, but which is right for you? My journey is to keep it simple. Just Walk!
May this New Year of 2012 bring you clarity and passion. The Universe is behind your every endeavor, we never walk alone…We are All One and in this dance together as true family.
With great love and passion for happiness, I am eternally yours.
Namaste’,
Barbara
Connection to Spirit … Even on the New York City Subway
~ By Pamela Merritt Kramer
I recently went on a buying trip in New York City for my store. I did not have time to meditate as I took time that morning playing with my grandchildren. When I left the apartment, it was raining and chilly. When I got on the subway at 8 o’clock, the train was already full. Luckily, I found a seat and started to observe my fellow passengers. There were about 100 people in the car I was in. People of many occupations, sizes, and stages of life were standing inches away from each other, and those sitting, were shoulder to shoulder. I decided to meditate on the subway. (My first shamanic journey was on a train, so I felt confidant that I could quiet my mind and meditate here.)
I focused on my breath – inhaling to the count of seven, exhaling slowly through my mouth to the count of fifteen. I felt the cool air come into my nostrils, down my throat, filling my lungs as my chest and abdomen expanded. Then reversing the process by pushing the air out of my lungs, up my throat and exhale into the train (those who live in NYC call the subway – the train).
After a few focused breaths, I became aware that my hearing suddenly became louder. It was like someone turned the volume up on the TV. I could hear the loud sounds of the moving train, the screeching of stressed metal, a train passing just inches away, the air rushing by us. I could sense the strain and tension of the train bearing down on the tracks, metal stressed against metal with thousands of pounds of force, and the immense power that was propelling it through the tunnel to the next stop. The train was carrying probably two thousand or more people to various destinations. I wondered how many people ever notice this power, these sounds of the subway? I could sense the stress behind the mechanical sounds, and I wondered how they might impact people exposed to this twice a day. It is part of everyday life for millions of people in New York City.
Then I suddenly realized something was missing. There were no conversations amongst all the 100 people in the car I was on. The absence of everyday social contact was deafening! It startled me so much, that I suddenly opened my eyes and looked around. My heart was open and I felt very balanced and light after meditating with the sounds of the train. I lovingly looked around at all the faces of the people on the car. I knew they were each part of the Divine, and their spirit was infinite. I noticed that each and every person was either reading, listening to their iPod, sleeping, or staring into space. Everyone was in their own world. There were about 100 people on my car, and no one, made any effort to speak or acknowledge another person! As I looked around the car, I was sure if I looked at people long enough with a smile and open heart, they would sense my energy and look up. I tried to make eye contact with my fellow passengers for awhile. I kept scanning the car, and not once, not even for a second, did I make eye contact with anyone on that train. They appeared to all be totally within themselves.
I then sent blessings and love to everyone in the car and my heart felt more and more open. I prayed that everyone on the train felt uplifted in someway that day forward.
Then I was reminded, that we humans feel isolated, all alone, unconnected everyday. We listen to stressful sounds and feel separate most of the time. We are so used to stress, we don’t even notice it anymore.
How often do we take the time to listen to the birds sing, the wind, water flowing, or children laughing? When was the last time you: looked for images in the clouds, were in awe of a beautiful landscape, got a chance to appreciate a beautiful tree, sat by the water and did nothing, had a heart felt conversation, had a good belly laugh, read a good book, or was grateful!?
Our lives are filled with unnatural sounds, settings, and experiences. These are stressful times, and we tend to find ourselves worrying about the future. We continue to feel more and more alone, fearful, and basically, just go through each day on automatic pilot, hoping things will get better.
Regardless of what is happening in your life – you can change how you feel every day! You can literally change your life by just taking a few moments to focus on your connection to Spirit. There are many simple things to be ‘in the moment’, connect to All that is, and no longer feel alone.
I have been interviewing many people on their spiritual journey, and it has been amazing what I am personally learning. What I have been witnessing and experiencing through these conversations, their powerful stories, is transforming my life. These personal stories will be published in a book I am writing “Connection to Spirit, The Tapestry of Waking up and living The Answer”.
Join me at the New Moon Expo on Saturday, Oct 22nd @ 3:30. I will be sharing some of the stories of these ordinary, extraordinary people. In the spring of 2012, “Connection to Spirit” is scheduled to be released. Don’t miss this exciting preview!
My Story of Awakening ~ By Barbara Konish
I was asked to write a chapter on “How I Woke Up,” for an Anthology Called ” Waking Up is Not Hard to Do” written by Light Workers around the country.
Here is the beginning of my story:
I was an executive director of sales, manager and beauty consultant, for an international cosmetics corporation. Loving my work and doing well. While on a Company reward trip to Maui in 1987 I woke up.
The tourist guides said “do not miss the sunrise at the Haleakala Volcano.” For whatever reasons, I felt it to be a “‘must do”‘ for me. At that time, I was not one to entertain winding roads. Following the prompt, I rented a car, left the resort , and drove the spiraling narrow mountain path, in the dark of night, to the top of the volcano.
At the summit, wrapped in hotel sheets for warmth, I held lava rocks and readied myself for the big event. I waited, and watched as my observations shifted from waiting to becoming one with the beginning glow of light. I could feel my entire being open up to receive this gift. I realized a treasure was offered at that moment. This faithful morning happening, changed my perception of all things great and small.
This was more than any sunrise I had experienced prior. It was alive, magical and reaching to me. This moment, I experienced the birthing of grandfather sun from the mother ocean miles below me. A burst of red hot, yet peaceful, energy filled my entire being with it’s vibration. New life and promise gave me pause to pay full attention. As I stood in wonderment of the sun rising to greet me, A voice spoke, “Barbara It is time to work on the inside beauty, no longer the outside beauty”. Standing then on the edge of the volcano, feeling the power of the ages and the limitless knowing of potential, I knew I could fly! I also knew that if I doubted the greatness of all that is..I would fall.
This poem was then given me to remember this message :
Come to the edge, he said, come to the edge. Come to the edge he said. No I am afraid! But I went to the edge Still afraid, and they pushed me….. and I flew!It was the moment of awakening.
Having seized the moment..my life forever evolved. And so the journey continues, for that was just the beginning.
Namaste,
Barbara
